Certainly. I think art can definitely make an impact on people by spreading awareness. Of course the challenge is that those most receptive to that type of art are probably the people already concerned about climate change. The ones who need convincing would likely either ignore art about it, or use it as a springboard to start a debate. Of course if the latter happens, then that's an opportunity for discussion and sharing of evidence and there's always a chance they could change their mind as a result of the discussion.

I actually had to do an assignment on climate change (doing an editorial illustration) back in college. This was admittedly before I knew where I stood on the issue and didn't know enough about it to do a really strong piece, but for the assignment I chose to go with the "it's a real problem" side, because illustrating sad animals was something I knew I could pull off.
